About ForeverCats.COM

We’re just regular cat lovers, like you. Among other things we’re trying to help abandoned, stray, surrendered but adoptable cats get a chance of finding their forever home.

This site is brought to you by a group of UK / US cat lovers who believe every cat deserves the chance of a finding a forever home.

Personally I have been owned by cats all my life and currently share my home in Edinburgh, Scotland with three ex street cats, a hand reared rescue kitten from Sunny Harbour Cat and Kitten Rescue and two mainecoons. My 18 year old moggie, LP, rules over everyone with a firm but fair paw.

I occasionally show my cats and volunteer at a small Scottish cat rescue which has just got its charity status.

We are interested in the welfare of all cats – whether moggie or pure-bred / pedigree. In the current financial climate more pure bred cats whether pedigree or not are finding themselves in the free ads or at shelters and rescues. Back street cat breeding is funding booze, drugs and would would you believe – even Christmas!

It’s easy to turn a blind eye. It’s much harder to do something about it.

The plight of abandoned, surrendered and stray cats is getting worse because of the economic times we live in. Even in the UK.

The UKs largest animal welfare organisations are concentrating more on abuse/neglect cases. It’s a common misconception that the UK doesn’t have the ‘Death Row’ cat culture the States has. We do. It’s just far less ‘in your face’. Do you really think the SSPCA or RSPCA keep cats for an indefinite period?

All rescues are at breaking point.

I have been meaning to do some online fund raising for about a year. Business always seemed to get in the way. It wasn’t until I SAW all these cats in Greenville, South Carolina being PTS each week and starting funding ‘pull fees’ that we sprung into action; partly because there are SO many cats needing help.

The logic of paying the shelter ‘pull fee’ is this: it tips the odds more in the cats favour that it will be adopted or rescued. When some were not lucky enough to be ‘pulled’ we were left with a terrible dilemma. Leave them to die or find a solution.

The solution has been to find them board at a rescue center/sanctuary in Clover, South Carolina. However costs are mounting. Boarding costs are between $5 and $8 a day per cat.

All our rescue cats are available for adoption once their quarantine period is over and the cats are assessed as being fit and well.

As well as raising funds for these cats in Greenville County, we’re here to draw attention to ‘good cat causes’ and generally ‘cat chat’
